Exhibitors meet Journalists

The BAU Information Talks—the highlight in the press campaign for BAU 2019—took place on October 25 and 26, 2018.

The focus was on the conversations taking place at the tables in Hall B0 at the ICM - Internationales Congress Center München. 179 companies came along to this event, to talk to 150 trade journalists from all over Europe about their upcoming presentations at BAU 2019. This record number of participants demonstrates the success of these Information Talks. Functioning as a kind of “show before the show”, the talks supply the media with a wide range of information and material to use in their reporting. Strong interest in the BAU Information Talks is always guaranteed.

The Information Talks were officially opened, as always, with an International Press Conference in the ICM. Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, Deputy-CEO of Messe München, and BAU Exhibition Director Mirko Arend together gave an impressive PowerPoint presentation about BAU 2019. Dieter Schäfer, Chairman of the Advisory Board of BAU and Chairman of the Board of Management, Deutsche Steinzeug Cremer & Breuer AG, emphasized the importance of BAU for the exhibiting industry, and Ludwig Dorffmeister, an expert on the building industry from the Munich-based ifo Institute for Economic Research, reported on the current situation in the building industry and the outlook for the coming years.

There was of course also time for a little relaxation and celebration. On Thursday evening the exhibitors and the journalists met up at BMW Lenbach. Here they enjoyed tempting delicacies from the flying buffet and a fantastic atmosphere in the heart of the city. Once again the evening event at the BAU Information Talks lived up to its considerable reputation—as an opportunity for a different kind of networking.
