Biography

Tivadar Puskas has been a partner and member of the management board at Schnetzer Puskas Ingenieure, a structural engineering firm, since 1996. Trained as a civil draftsman, Puskas graduated as an engineer at the HTL Burgdorf (1982) and at the ETH Zurich (1987). He is an engineer with a creative approach to mathematical fuzziness and perceives the dialogue between architectural intention and engineering as an important contribution to building culture. The most important structural studies and works carried out by Tivadar Puskas include the Messeturm Basel (2003), the St. Jakob football stadium (1996), the Forum Building and Plaza in Barcelona (2004) and the SQUARE at HSG in St Gallen with Sou Fujimoto Architects. Tivadar Puskas is active as an expert jury for various architecture and structure design competitions as well as an expert for earthquakes studies and projects. He is regularly invited as a guest critic at the Department of Architecture of the ETH Zurich, at the Accademia Mendrisio and at the Barcelona Architecture Center. At present, he is accompanying a research work on the topic of high-rise buildings in wood at the ETH Zurich.
