Biography

Study and PhD at the TU-Vienna. Habilitation at the TU-Munich. Since 2012 at Fraunhofer IPM. Since 2017 W3 professorship at the University of Freiburg. 2021 AI Champion of the State of Baden-Württemberg; 2019 Joseph von Fraunhofer Prize for outstanding research. Main research interests: Object detection with LiDAR; 3D data modelling with machine learning; automated sensing using robotic systems.
