Biography

Steffen Braun is a future city technologist and Institute Director at Fraunhofer IAO in Stuttgart for the research department of urban system engineering. He co-founded the Fraunhofer Morgenstadt initiative back in 2011 and has since been designing innovations for climate-friendly, sustainable and liveable living and economic spaces for tomorrow. His focus is on applied research questions on how urban systems and processes can change for living, working, housing, mobility or supply. Steffen Braun studied architecture and urban planning at the University of Stuttgart, SUNY Buffalo and Tampere University of Technology from 2003 to 2009.
