Trainee scavenger hunt at BAU

The scavenger hunt for trainees from BDB member companies has been a real highlight and a popular part of BAU since 2007. With the help of an app, the trainees from the building materials trade are guided through the halls of BAU - including discussions with industry representatives and tricky questions. In this way, they learn a lot about the building materials industry at first hand, as well as about market partners. A sofa talk round with a celebrity surprise guest and the award ceremony after successfully completing the scavenger hunt complete the trainee star tour of the Bundesverband Deutscher Baustoff-Fachhandel e.V. (Federal Association of the German Building Materials Trade).

Organizer: Federal Association of the German Building Materials Trade (BDB)

Award ceremony “Auf IT gebaut”—building professions with a future

As Dr. Robert Habeck (Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection) said about the “Built on IT” award: “ [...] It shows the innovative power in the form of creative solutions in the construction industry. And above all, it shows how competently and future-oriented young men and women know how to use the new technologies in the interests of a modern construction industry. [...].”

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 entries from the competition areas of craftsmanship and technology, construction management, civil engineering and architecture. There is also a special start-up prize for young founders with digital solutions for the construction industry.

Organizer: RKW Competence Center

BDA lecture program for young professionals

As at previous BAU trade fairs, we are delighted that numerous universities and colleges will be presenting their current research projects at BAU 2025.

The subject areas are just as varied as the solutions. And so, on the second day of the trade fair, the audience can look forward to twelve exciting presentations, ranging from infra-lightweight construction, the Stuttgart 210 research project, the Alfons-Bayerer-Straße high-rise residential building with a deconstructable facade, the development of material and energy-efficient timber construction systems made of hardwood and softwood, hops as a building material and the integration of passive and active functions in additively manufactured construction sites. Be inspired by the creativity of Germany's universities and colleges.

Organizer: Association of German Architects

BAKA University Day: Education Offensive 2050

The educational offensive for students from colleges and universities in Germany and neighboring European countries shows new paths and ideas from the students' perspective, which are dedicated to the core questions:

How are we prepared for the requirements of a sustainable design of our society and, above all, the future living space?

Project work from the fields of space, buildings and neighborhoods that are oriented towards sustainability aspects and deal with the topics of sufficiency, efficiency, consistency and resilience can be submitted.

Organizer: BAKA Federal Association for the Renewal of Old Buildings.

FORWARD: impulses for a future-oriented generation of architecture

Under the title “FORWARD: Impulses of a future-oriented generation of architects”, a series of lectures will take place at BAU 2025 that will focus on the priorities and working methods of young architecture firms worldwide.
