Lecture description
z+’s approach to architecture is shaped by its surroundings, atmosphere and people. Every building is considered within its urban context and as part of the neighbourhood. The focus is on residential buildings, public buildings and offices, where people spend much of their time and experience a sense of community. Buildings shape people just as people shape buildings. The architecture of z+ combines creativity with craftsmanship, always keeping the practical realisation of a design in mind. zillerplus’s first buildings were developed in the late 1990s as part of the Bavarian “Cost-Effective Housing” programme. A conscious approach to the use of resources continues to shape the practice’s philosophy to this day, driven by the belief that economy fosters creativity.
