Innovation Award Architecture + Building

The Innovation Award Architecture+ Building, presented for the 17th time at BAU 2027, recognises innovative products or project-specific solutions in the fields of building materials, building components, façades, interior finishing, building services engineering, and other systems and products for the construction industry. Organised by the architecture journal AIT/AIT-Dialog in cooperation with Messe München GmbH, the award aims to evaluate the products submitted by BAU exhibitors in terms of design, quality and potential applications from an architectural perspective. The jury, comprising renowned interior designers and architects, will assess the entries on site and present the awards in person.

Competition „Auf IT gebaut - Bauberufe mit Zukunft“: Meet the 2027 Winners

This award, which is important for the next generation of professionals in the construction industry, is presented in the competition categories of civil engineering, construction process management, architecture, and skilled trades and technology, and recognizes outstanding IT solutions for the construction industry. A startup award will also be presented.

The moderated awards ceremony for the 2027 competition will take place as part of BAU 2027 on January 12, 2027, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Neo Stage in Hall C5.

Awarding of the Balthasar-Neumann-Prize 2027

The Balthasar Neumann Prize is an architecture prize that has been offered since 1994 and is announced every two years. It is one of the most important and prestigious architectural awards in Europe. The prize derives its outstanding status from its objective: realized construction projects that have special features of integral planning and exemplary building culture and technical qualities, taking sustainability aspects into account, are honored.
