DGNB ‘Yes to Sustainability’
The principle of sustainable building, in all its facets, is and remains the answer to the question of what future-proof construction looks like. This conviction forms the foundation of the DGNB Special Exhibition “Yes to Sustainability” at BAU 2027.
Throughout all five days of the trade fair, the special exhibition will host a comprehensive programme of knowledge-sharing, discussion and networking. An exhibition invites architects and planners, tradesmen and building product manufacturers to delve deeper into the topics of sustainable construction.
Guided tours of exhibiting DGNB member organisations round off the activities offered by the non-profit association, which is marking the start of its 20th anniversary celebrations at this year’s BAU.
The DGNB Special Exhibition is therefore the hotspot for everyone who remains passionate about greater sustainability in construction.
Forum: Focus on Interior Design—Projects, Perspectives, and Best Practices
How is interior design evolving, and what concepts will shape the spaces of tomorrow? The “Focus on Interior Design” forum, organized by Heinze and BauNetz, will bring together renowned architects, interior designers, and planners at BAU 2027.
The focus will be on completed projects, current issues, and new perspectives in the field of interior design. Rather than traditional product presentations, the event will center on real-world experiences and topics such as architecture and design, transformation, materials, and sustainability, as well as the interplay between different disciplines.
Speakers will include representatives from renowned firms such as Peter Kulka Architektur, Baupiloten, Ludloff Ludloff Architekten, KINZO, KSP ENGEL, and LAVA – Laboratory for Visionary Architecture. Additional prominent firms and program highlights will be announced in due course.
On all five days of the trade show, moderated program blocks featuring several concise presentations will take place at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. each day. The forum will thus serve as a hub for knowledge, inspiration, exciting projects, and personal exchange—right in the heart of the “Focus on Interior Design” special exhibition area organized by Heinze and BauNetz in Hall A4, Booth 338.

Fraunhofer Innovation Forum for Construction
At the Fraunhofer Construction Alliance Innovation Forum, visitors will gain a concise overview of the latest research findings and practical solutions for the future of construction. National Team trains for EuroSkills 2027
The German National Construction Team brings together the country´s most talented young professionals in the trades of tiling, bricklaying, plasterin, carpentry, and concrete construction as they prepare for EuroSkills 2027, the European Championship of Young Professionals, in Düsseldorf.
At the Training Arena at the West Entrance, they will showcase their skills under competition conditions, demonstrating the precision, craftmanship, and determination required at the highest level. Only outstanding perfomances will earn them a coveted place on the team competing at EuroSkills 2027.
Precast Arena
Prefabrication is a pivotal, innovation driving component of the future of construction. Under the motto "Advantage through Prefabrication," innovation leaders in sustainable construction are showcasing their concepts and products at the Precast Arena (Hall A2, Booth 321).
Key highlights include topics such as streamlined and affordable housing, circular construction, "sponge city" solutions, timber-concrete composite structures, and low-CO2 concretes using alternative binders, as well as architecturally sophisticated, resource-efficient solutions for building construction and urban design. This Spotlight area focuses on protecting buildings and infrastructure against extreme weather events and physical attacks through climate-resilient and crisis-proof construction products.
Pandemics, natural disasters, conflicts, and attacks on critical infrastructure are transforming society. Technological, environmental, and socioeconomic developments are amplifying these changes. This means that buildings must become more resilient and adaptable—through more robust construction methods, redundancy, and ease of repair. In addition, the shift toward a circular economy calls for new construction methods and business models. The special exhibition at ift Rosenheim showcases suitable building products and services.
