BAU CHINA—The leading trade fair in the Asia-Pacific region for “construction system solutions, high-end technologies and materials” took place in Shanghai from October 16 to 19, 2024. This year, BAU China was comprehensively presented in three main areas: exhibition, conference and innovation. It showcased outstanding topics and leading transformation trends. The key topics of the exhibition were “Urban Renewal”, “Resilient, Climate-Friendly Construction”, “Resource Efficiency”, “Modular and Serial Construction”, “Energy Efficiency”.

“The four-day trade fair has positively strengthened the confidence and expectations of all those involved in the construction industry in the face of the difficulties in the construction industry. We are very pleased to see so many international visitors at our trade fair, this is extremely important,” reports Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, Managing Director of Messe München. “The Chinese market is increasingly developing in the direction of quality and this market needs high-quality products and solutions.”

Impetus for tomorrow's construction

The leading architectural trends played a key role at BAU CHINA, which supports real estate developers, architects and civil engineers in integrating architecture and technology and implementing future trends and innovations.

The central theme of this year's exhibition was “Renewal and Sustainability”. 40 conferences and forums with 500 speakers were held on site. The conference topics covered a wide range of areas, including the industry ecology of architecture, CO2 neutrality, urban renewal and technological advancement.

New exhibition theme: “High Quality House” from the Chinese Ministry of Construction, set for the future

“Together into the future”—the themed exhibition ‘High Quality House’ included examples of more than 200 outstanding projects from across the country, showing the standards of ‘good houses’. The aim was to create a model for China's new housing standards and to provide a model for the construction of high-quality houses across the country.

New event: EcoBuild cooperated with Fraunhofer Institute

The “EcoBuild Future Architecture Ecology Conference” promoted the coordinated development of all aspects of the construction industry by focusing on the “Zero Carbon Revolution and Urban Regeneration”, integrating pathways for green buildings and urban renewal, and improving efficiency and quality.
