From October 28 to 30, 2026, BAU China 2026, including Fenestration BAU China, China Architectural Design Expo (CADE) and China Roofing & Waterproofing Expo (R&W), brought the building industry together at the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi), Beijing. The event created a platform for the industry to address structural change, share practical solutions and identify new opportunities for sustainable growth.
More than 820 exhibitors attended the exhibition during its three-day run, presented their latest products, technologies and system solutions across 90,000 square meters of exhibition space. The event welcomed around 52,000 professional visitors over three days, including around 5,000 international visitors and buyers from 106 countries and regions, among them the top visiting countries are Korea, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Mongolia, Brazil, Indonesia, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Australia, Canada. A comprehensive supporting program featuring more than 30 conferences, forums and networking activities complemented the exhibition.
"The future of the Global Building Industry will be defined by how successfully we combine innovation, sustainability and collaboration”, said Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, CEO of Messe München. “BAU China brings together the ideas, technologies and partnerships that are driving this transformation. By connecting global expertise with local innovation, we aim to provide the solutions and inspiration needed to shape the next generation of buildings and cities. BAU China has firmly established itself as a leading industry platform, growing alongside the market while creating sustainable value and long-term opportunities for our partners and customers.”
“Chinese enterprises today need to elevate their long-term strategic thinking- moving beyond short-term gains to build durable, future focused capabilities. BAU China serves as a professional, service oriented international platform that supports exhibitors on that journey by connecting them with global resources, expertise and opportunities” said Emily Zhang, CEO of MMU.
Reshape: Driving High-Quality Development
The building industry is undergoing profound transformation. Climate change, resource efficiency, digitalization, artificial intelligence and intelligent construction are reshaping the way buildings are designed, constructed and operated. In China, the market is evolving from rapid expansion toward a new phase focused on urban renewal, upgrading existing building stock and sustainable, technology-driven growth.
A key highlight of the 2026 edition was the dedicated architectural design showcase at CADE, featuring nine themed exhibition areas focused on high-quality housing, urban renewal, AI and digitalization, healthcare architecture, façade innovation, sustainable materials and future campus development. Curated by leading architects, academicians and industry experts, these themed zones presented forward-looking design concepts and practical solutions to today's building challenges. Combined with real-life product and technology exhibits across the exhibition floor, they created an immersive showroom where visitors could experience how architectural ideas are transformed into tangible building solutions.
The exhibition demonstrated a clear shift from individual products toward integrated building systems, reflecting BAU China's role as an ecosystem platform connecting architects, developers, planners, contractors, manufacturers and technology providers.
Revive: Strengthening International Exchange and Cooperation
While „Reshape" reflects industry transformation, “Revive" represents renewed confidence, cooperation and growth.
As companies seek new opportunities in urban renewal, sustainable renovation and intelligent building technologies, international exchange has become increasingly important. Beyond products, successful market expansion now requires expertise in standards, certification, compliance and local market requirements.
BAU China 2026 responded by bringing together international organizations, industry experts, exhibitors and visitor delegations from around the world. Among the international highlights were experts from ift Rosenheim, EuroWindoor, American Academy of Project management and Japan Sash Manufacturers Association ISO/ TC, whose contributions provided valuable international perspectives on future industry development. Through technical exchange, knowledge sharing and business networking, BAU China continues to connect global expertise with local innovation, creating opportunities for collaboration and sustainable industry development.
"This two-way exchange will accelerate the rollout of green and intelligent building solutions across China and the Asia-Pacific, building a solid bridge connecting the global building-technology community with China's vast market potential," said Cornelia Lutz, Deputy Executive Director of the BAU Network.
Looking Ahead
The successful conclusion of BAU China 2026 once again highlighted the resilience, innovation and global connectivity of the building industry.
The next edition of BAU China will take place from 3 to 5 November 2027 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), continuing its mission to connect international expertise with local innovation and support the future development of the built environment.
