Climate protection and climate adaptation as a common goal

Support climate protection with the PLUS TICKET of BAU!

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time. To limit the global impact, the international community has set itself the goal of keeping global warming to 1.5°C. This is crucial to ensure a livable environment for future generations. Climate protection projects play a central role in this. Likewise, promoting climate adaptation measures is essential to prepare for the already noticeable effects of climate change. By financially supporting projects in both areas, we can all make a small but important contribution.

Commitment to climate protection

As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we have introduced the optional PLUS TICKET. With a surcharge of €5 gross on the regular ticket price, we enable our visitors and exhibitors to voluntarily support climate projects. This amount does not compensate for the emissions caused by a visit to the trade fair but serves as financial support for climate protection and adaptation measures.

This is how the PLUS TICKET works

The additional net revenue from the ticket surcharge of €4.20 per ticket goes directly to the BayWa Foundation's climate protection project “O'pflanzt is.”

BayWa Foundation: “O'pflanzt is”

The BayWa Foundation is committed to the climate-friendly conversion of Bavarian forests. Four out of five trees* here are no longer healthy. Prolonged dry periods and bark beetle infestation are particularly affecting the populations of spruce and pine. Converted and managed mixed forests are better able to cope with the changing climate conditions and actively contribute to climate protection.

PLUS TICKET – A Voluntary Contribution to Selected Climate Action Projects

Since 2023, visitors and exhibitors at BAU have had the opportunity to support selected climate action projects by purchasing a PLUS TICKET (formerly the GoGreen Ticket). The PLUS TICKET includes a voluntary financial contribution.

The additional revenue generated through PLUS TICKET sales is passed on in full to our external project partners, BayWa Foundation and myclimate.

Regional Project – BayWa Foundation

Half of the additional revenue generated through PLUS TICKET sales is allocated to the BayWa Foundation's regional climate action project, "O'pflanzt is!" The project's goal is to establish climate-resilient forests in Bavaria.

According to the BayWa Foundation, the additional revenue generated through PLUS TICKET sales at BAU 2025 made it possible to plant:

  • 3,815 red oak trees
  • across approximately 0.9 hectares

International Project – myclimate

The remaining half is provided to our project partner myclimate to help finance the construction of biogas plants in India.

According to myclimate, the additional revenue generated through PLUS TICKET sales at BAU 2025 achieved the following results:

1,703 metric tons of CO₂ emissions reduced

28 biogas plants installed
